Alright.. I have something that is puzzling to me.

The 7 bolt block we took out of a 98 AWD Talon has an oil fitting that screws into the side of the block, that comes from the turbo.

The 7 bolt block that I have in my grey GST does not have an oil fitting in the side of the block.(Which the talon had) However. Instead of that line running to the side of the block, it runs to the head where there is a bolt there that it gets oil from.

Now the 6 bolt block that we put into the 98 talon, also does not have this oil fitting in the side of the block... So the line that runs to the turbo we are going to have to run a line to that bolt that is in the side of the head.

Why is it, that 1 of the 7 bolts has it, and the other doesnt.. And also the 6 bolt doesnt have it like the one 7 bolt.. Why would there be a descrepency in that?

to my understanding, 2gs have the oil feed line coming from down by the oil-filter housing whereas 1g's have the oil feed line coming from the side of the cylinder head.

The oil feed coming from the cylinder head is suppose to be a lower oil pressure which is good for most turbos.

The oil feed coming from the oil filter housing will have higher oil pressure, but its suppose to be a cleaner oil sourse as its getting oil right after it goes through the filter.

Correct me if I am wrong please...

All 6 bolts get oil from the head for the turbo.

1st Gen 7 bolts get oil from the head for the turbo.

2nd Gen 7 bolts get oil from the oil filter housing for the turbo.

I've never seen a block that has a hole in it for turbo oil feed. I know on the 2g's the feed line is bolted to the block, but runs to the oil filter housing. Also on 2g's there is a fitting behind the turbo on the block for water but thats all I've ever seen.

Also, you can use the oil feed from the head on any 4g63. Just need a banjo bolt from a 1g to replace the plug on a 2g head.
