manual conversion?

i have a 97 eclipse gs and i am sick of the automatic. i wana convert it to manual. i have a loan on it so i cant just get rid of it and get another one thats manual. so how much will it cost and what do i need to convert?

find a $4 or 500 parts car with a blown motor and bam,you got all the parts you need...buying that shit part for part will take forever and prolly cost more

That is true...So your sick of the auto itself cause you cannot shift..Or you want to clutch and shift?

Cause you can get an auto shift box..

But if you want to clutch and shift..Buy the cheaper car with blown motor and swap to a 5 speed..

Yeaa i wana be able to clutch and shift. Pluss id get a shit tone better gas millage. Do you know if anyone with a parts car for that price.....

And would the manual and auto trany be the same or are they deferent?

What do i need to convert other than tranny and clutch and shifter?

Dumb queation but what year would work for my 97 gs eclipse? I think 95-99?

Oh and does the ecu need to be swaped to manual ecu?

You do want to be able to clutch...Well even the shift box does get better milage on an auto..I got better milage when I designed my shift box..But there is another one out there yet...
