idle's at 3100 rpm what do i do?

Ok i had to put a new head on cause i bent valves in the other one, now my buddy told me that the car will run good with out the vaccume lines hooked up so i just capped off the lines on the manifold just to see if it runs right but now it stays revd at 3100 rpm and also there is alot of noise in this used head i put on like lifter click but louder but it is in the valvetrain what is it the lifters?:confused: I really need help on this one guys so maybe someone around the portage area could give me a hand thanks for all the help

did you properly oil all the lifters and such before you droped the cams in? If you pull of the vaccume lines should plug the ports on the manifold or just put the lines back on if they are all still there.
