Hey guys,
A buddy and I just finished swapping a 7 bolt for a 6 bolt and after a little tinkering we got the car to run but it is a very rough idle and the car will not turn over on the first turn of the key it takes and average of 3-5 times.

I will post a video of the car idling tomorrow after work.

What I need to know is why the car is idling bad.

I have tried playing with the ICV and this helps a little but the car still idles around 300 RPM's then every now and then the car will rev up to around 1100 but then suddenly dip back down to 300. I have DSMLink so if anyone knows of a way to possibly fix this problem through that I would like to know.

Also, I bought some glowshift gauges (Wideband, Boost, Fuel Pressure, and Oil pressure) with the intent of installing them but I am not an electrician and I have no idea how to install them so if anybody has any diagrams as to how to install them or would possibly be interested in helping to install them it would be greatly appreciated.

My car has been sitting for way too long and every time I take a ride in a DSM or just see a nice car I just want to drive mine badly.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my thread and/ or giving any advice!
Thanks!

First of all did you check all your wiring?
Start there first.

Also check all vac lines for cracks/holes plug off what you're not using.

As for the idle i would start with a simple boost leak test.
If the plugs and wires are old i would suggest a new set.

Do you have dsmlink set up properly for your Mods?

Ie if your running bigger than stock injectors/maf setup.
Do you also have the cas inversion checked?

I checked the wiring and everything seemed to be in order. The vaccuum lines seemed good as well but i can double check them. The last time my car was boost leak tested there was no leaks well none that we could find anyway. I have stock injectors and maf setup but I have no idea how to run DSMLink. But with a little digging im pretty sure I could figure a few things out. And I do not have the CAS inversion checked so I will try that later tonight and see how things go from there.
Thanks!

Hey guys,

Also, I bought some glowshift gauges (Wideband, Boost, Fuel Pressure, and Oil pressure) with the intent of installing them but I am not an electrician and I have no idea how to install them so if anybody has any diagrams as to how to install them or would possibly be interested in helping to install them it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

oil pressure is pretty simple.
to install the sending unit, you have to take out a plug in the oil gally, (oil filter housing) and install it. ground the sender to the chassis. the harness for the gauge should have, ground, sending unit wire, aux pwr, and full time power IIRC. well gorund the ground lol, if you have a aftermarket deck, aux should go to the yellow wire, full time should go to red. sending unit wire should be conected to the sender you installed earlier.
does that help?

i think foe wb it ignition, ground, and the harness for the sensor

Make sure you have your plug wires set up correct as well

Here is the guide

Vertical is the coil pack

Horizontal is the engine

This is with you looking at the motor from the front bumper.

Coil
4
3
2
1

Engine

4 3 2 1

Wires go as following

4 to 4
3 to 1
2 to 2
1 to 3

^ That's kind of confusing man, looking at the coil from the front of the engine.

Before
4123

After
2341

Engine stays the same
4321

In Ecmlink go to misc and check use non95-96 cas, then go to DTC make sure you uncheck cylinder misfire.

I did what you said Kevin and the same thing happened. While looking at the DTC list it says I have 2 reported DTC's 0115 (Engine coolant temperature circuit malfunction) and 0443 (Evaporative purge control valve malfunction) I have no idea what either of these are or how to fix them. Any help is greatly appreciated. Sorry posting a video will be hard as my camcorder decided to crap out on me and my phone takes horrible video.
Thanks!

If anyone would be interested in coming to my house and possibly helping me with this issue, it would be greatly appreciated. I can pay for gas and food if needed. This would be greatly appreciated because I am getting very frustrated with this project and it is taking too long and I want to drive the car.
Thanks!

Check your coolant temp sensor that will cause your car to run like crap.

Hey guys,
After an inspection of my car today (took me so long cause i was working out of town) I found out that the plug wasn't connected to the coolant temp sensor. I plugged it in and wallah my car starts... :/ I feel like a dumbass for not noticing it but whatevs... Now the car will idle around 1000 rpms for a little bit then it will slowly leak down and eventually kill and after an inspection we think it is because of the EVAP Canister elimination. I was told that this would cause a BIG boost leak if everything was not blocked off correctly so I was wondering if any of you guys would happen to have a diagram to show where to block everything off at? Thanks for all your help it has been a big help in getting my car running.

Also, I still have gauges that need to be installed and I am clueless to all the wiring so if anyone would be willing to come to my location and help me install them I would be willing to pay for gas and labor and food and such... I should have all the tools needed but feel free to bring your own if you wish the only thing I do not have is a welder (I was told I need one for the install of the wideband) but I do have a neighbor that has one that he would be willing to let me use as long as I give him a heads up on a date and time.
Thanks!

Hey guys,
While driving down the road on Friday my car decided to die on me I shifted into first and then stepped on the gas and seconds later the car died and I had to get it towed home. Now the car will not turn over or even prime for that matter we replaced the fuel pump because the AFPR was showing no pressure but alas that did not fix the problem we tested the fuel pressure relay and it all checked out good I tried to plug my computer into DSMLink and the "Scan failed to find a working Connection" error occurred so we thought it was the ECU but we threw a stock ECU in and the same problem persisted. I have no idea what else could be wrong as I am not a wiz at cars but I tried everything that I could think of and nothing worked. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated as I leave for college in a few weeks and I would love to bring the DSM with me.
Thank You!
Zac

Do you have any power to anything?

Check all your fuses?

Does the check engine light stay on after the key is turned? (After 30 seconds or so)

Yes I have power to the rest of my car just not the engine. I will be checking my fuses tonight and the check engine light does not come on.

Recently undo any ground or power wires? Something may have came loose.

I don't think so but I scour the car and look for any that may have come loose or off completely but I didn't see any with a quick scan.

Check the main Engine fuse on the fusebox under the hood.
