New Car!!!!

So I finally sucked it up and went and bought a new car and just wanted to see what u guys think. I had seen it in the paper for 1500 and it only had 135,000 and drives fine but seems to lack power in the top end i mean i have troubles keeping up with my friends neon and i have no idea what the problem could be but otherwise it runs great.

start with doing all the regular stuff like oil change, new plugs and wires, ect... do a boost leak test too (assuming this is a turbo car)
