there are certian COP setups that require some sort of external Ignition system or something. Extreme had this problem on his old white drag car. If you would like, I may have an MSD DIS-II that i will be taking out of my talon soon.

just gives the car better spark and gets rid of the wires and coil pack. i had one on my laser dont really notice it to much

Their mostly for show, cleans the engine bay up, it does help insure that you have a great spark all the time, but nothing good quality stock parts wouldn't. When you start doing things like studder boxes, ignition timing advancement, or just excessive boosting, then you start to notice the consistancy a little, but most of us won't get their. If I was at that point, I would still rely on the good old badass coils + badass wires = badass spark. It's also a good bargin compared to buying a whole new coil pack/wire setup for a dsm.

Haven't had a problem with mine yet, besides the bolts backing out. Got about 2500 miles so far with it on. My coils were crapping out or something, misfired all the time. It was the same cost as 2-3 sets of plug wires, the whole no-maintenance point, plus the engine cleanup is priceless.
