anyone know if the 420a auto shells are the same as a 5 speed shell? how much of a pain in the ass would it be to swap a 5 speed into the rs i picked up? normaly i would just buy a 5 speed car but i like the car i bought and it has NO rust.
it seem worth it to me to swap this car to a 5 speed atleast then i could go through the hole front end of the car while its apart and know it was put back together right.
the only thing im worried about is if the pedals and clutch master mounting holes are there or not.if they are then it should be easy to do,i havent looked at it to see if its easily doable

im not 100% on this but I believe the holes are there and everything will work but I think you need to switch a wire or two on the ecu. again im not 100 I know thats what you do with a neon. Im sure you know this but the neon tranny will bolt in there too if you change the bell housing. Usually you can find them cheaper and there are a couple gear ratios.

i knwo about the trannys, but i dont know about these shells.i know its easy enough to do with a turbo shell, but ya if i have to do some hacking and cutting to make it work in this auto then il leave it alone and sell it. but i would love to swap this thing

the clutch crap is there you just need a holesaw to drill out where the master cylinder goes. i drilled through that to run my girls amp power wire as well as some wiring for her remote start.
my friend did a manual swap on a 1g, said it was pretty self explanatory but he had a parts car. i've only ever manual swapped 240sx's personally.
