funny smell and bogs sometimes still after fixing fuel line

91 Talon tsi awd, newer engine, evo 3, re wired 190, 650s, stage 3 chip, auto fpr, 13 lbs

Car smells kind of like carbon burn off if I run it up to 4K. If I gradually accelerate, it will bog down after it hits 5 psi and smells funny. If I get on it at all, it accelerates fine and will get to the set 13 psi, but I usually won't run it that far because my engine will start to show knock. I am wondering if this is a fuel related issue and what it could be?

do you have a wide band o2 , safc, daalogger, or even a voltmeter on your o2 sensor to see if your lean it sounds lean or one hell of a leak

tried using it and just wondering if you know if people would use mmcd or palmerstein on a pda m100. Mmcd was not doing anything and I do have a direct fit cable.
