upgrading aspiration?

Hey guys,

i've got a '90 eclipse turbo with a 4g63.

First off, im looking to upgrade my BoV and intake. I'm going to stick with the stock manifold and throttle body, but i want a cold air intake, or something on those lines. I know i should most likely upgrade my intercooler, but im taking one step at a time.

On ebay, alot of the universal BoVs dont have a hose running to the main intake line like the stock ones do... and im getting a bit confused on what i should do and how to do it.. and would appreciate advice on the best 'cost friendly', and effective upgrade.

Welcome. First of all, you don't need to upgrade your BOV. The stock 1G BOV is good to about 17psi. I wouldn't bother upgrading a BOV until you plan on running higher boost than that. Also you need to recirculate(that hose running to the intake) unless you run a GM MAS with the MAFT(mass air flow translator). This is the only way to vent your BOV properly with out spending megabucks. I would recommend starting with an aftermarket boost gauge if you don't already have one. As far as a CAI, I would either go with a 2G mas or the MAFT.

Thanks! i know that venting it wrong will down grade the performance and i dont want that. I found some intakes that i wanna get so im guessing that i should get an intake with the bov outlet?

I heard about this site from my friend john he made this site a while back for this kid alex i think.
