so yesterday i was putting the final things back together after my turbo install when the positive terminal on my battery came in contack with my strut mount bar, the current traveled through it to the other side of my car to the passenger side, where it melted a ground wire coming from the firewall area of my car and leading into the intake mani. It completely melted the wire and also melted some of the coating on the throttle cable. The throttle cable is easy enough to replace but now i have no interior lights at all except my SRS, brake, check engine light and i think ABS. those are the only things that light up inside, my radio doesn't even turn on, but I can't find a single blown fuse... any ideas on wat this POSSIBLY could be??? its been kind of a night killer for me lol

im thinkin you cooked more grounds then just that one on the intake.
what year is the car again? if for some reason you think you might have messed up the ecu.i have one you can try.
yes you checked the fuses but i would take all of them out and change them from under the dash.if that didnt work i would start changing them out under the hood.
you had that thing grounded out for a pretty long time so i wouldnt be suprised if this turns into another project. does the car run?

its a 96, and the engine turns over, but won't spark... so no? it doesn't run but it does try, my fuel pump turns on with the key and my power options all work. The plastic coating around the throttle cable got melted into the throttle cable so it doesn't open the throttle plate when you try to press in the gas peddle, its highly unlikely but im gonna take a trip to gibsons to get a new one and see if maybe, just maybe (I pray) that will make it start, but i highly doubt it. regardless it needs to be replaced. And thanks, ill try to figure something out on it and get back to you on the ECU

i always forget about gibsons, they have a shit load of ecus out there.so you can go there and buy one for 20?bucks or spend the 20 in gas and drive to rapids for my ecu.

If the cel is coming on your ecu is probably working. You probably blew a fuse and just didn't find it (if your lucky) or you have some major power/grounds that are melted. I probably wouldn't put anybody elses ecu in (northsydryd) cause if there is something really wrong you could fry his too.

well i guess i do have some lights, when i open the doors the under dash lights come on but i have no gauge lights, i also forgot to mention that we did wire in a prosport Oil P.S.I gauge into my interior dimmer switch... possibly screwed something up wit that to cause the lack of lights???
