i sold my 2g awhile ago to a guy and he just called me up bitching cause its running like crap and he says its all my fault. it ran perfectly fine when he bought it though. anyway. it has the 6 bolt swap w/ a front mount, 14b, mbc, emissions removed, 2nd o2 was eliminated, and a 3" turbo back catless exhaust. he says its throwing a code for a multiple misfire. he says it runs perfect when hes wide open but spits and sputters when he's just cruisin around. so he spent a grand putting the egr back on, and on a throttle body. i did use a 2g tb. (i know they say to use a 1g but i didnt have one at the time and it worked just fine). so anyway. any ideas as to what the problem might be. i just dont understand what would make it run like crap daily driving but run great at wide open. it has a stock fuel system, and the boost (atleast when i sold) was at 14lbs.

huh....
well to start with, buyers that buy a DSM for reliability should not be buying a DSM in the first place. these are performance cars, not honda civics!
What about a few of the basic things like spark plugs (NGK's)? Check the TPS, i had a problem once where is was reading 100% throttle all the time. that would make it run good at WOT but not for partial throttle.

Honestly, its really not your problem. Cars are sold as is, unless you gave him some kind of garruntee. How do you know if he did do something to it? I guess I can understand trying to help the guy out, especially if he just bought it, like a week ago. But if he has had it for a considerable amount of time, I wouldn't worry about it. If he would have called you up just looking for advice it would be one thing, but to bitch you out and blame you is ridiculous. Also how the hell did he spend 1k on a TB and EGR?

he said he changed the plugs. i told him to check the timing. the guy has had the car for a few months now. and he did say he was messing with the boost and who know what else. he didnt sound like he knows to much about cars. and how he spent that much on a tb and egr valve i have no idea. must have got the egr, tb and vacuum line from the dealer. thats the only way i can think off. im not to worried about it. i just figured i try to help him out even though he was an ass about everything. maybe ill just start to politely ignore his calls!
