im lookin more for 1/4 mile time, i dont have a huge turbo so i dont think water is the way to go??? how much boost will evo3 16g run at 9000 rpm
it probaly wont keep up, so nos is probly the way to go, i think????
what do you think
fully built engine, 660 inj, dsmlink,......

personally, i do think the Evo16g will hold up fine at 9000rpm, but for Quarter Mile time... N20 will help the best for sure. water/alky is great for cooling, but not a lot of horsepower. Meth injection will allow you to run more boost, giving you a little more horsepower... but for straight up 1/4 mile time... N20 will help the most

so would u run a 50-75 shot or meth alc , what can i get out of my 16g, boost wise

9000 rpms??? i dont know if that evoIII will have anything left at that rpm. with the evoIII, you'll make the most power from 4-6500rpms depending in your cams. anything after 7000rpm's your power band will start to drop.

meth/akly injection is not measured in shots like NOS, its measure mostly by nozzle size.
I would go NOS if your going 1320, best bang for your buck.
50 shot of NOS would be safe.

i never said it was in the powerband, but i think it'll keep up. i assume it's a stock motor internals though... Dv1 was a stroker, so lots of power fell off after the powerband cuz it couldn't fill it up. depends on how high of boost you want to run at 9000rpms though too i suppose.
N20 is still your best bet for Qtr Mile performance.

how whold a 50 trim be instead, i have 272 cams, titanium valvesprings, retainers, eagle rods, ross pistons, light weight flywheel/clutch
im afraid that the bigger turbo wont be good 1/4 mile time???? it spools to late, unless thats just spooling that way because of stock cams

You wont have a problem with a bigger turbo.. The little bit you lose in spool up time, you will get back on top end..

the NOS will cure the turbo lag!
An evo 16g will not make any power past 7 grand or so no matter what you do. You can't really argue between meth and nitrous. They are not comparable like that. Meth allows for more boost and a crazy cold intake air temps. Meaning a lot more power on pump gas etc. Nitrous spools a turbo like no other and is the best bang for the buck. They both can kill your engine in no time if you don't know what your doing. You can safely run both with out any problems at all though.
Just revving your engine to the limit will not gain any power unless you have an awesome well flowing and happy setup. If your intake manifold flows like molasses and your turbos pushing heat past 7500 there is no point in revving that high. Now you have to think about your dsm transmission. Dsm tranny's take a lot of crafty shimming and parts to get them to shift high at that rpm. I am currently revving my car to a happy 8200 rpms as of now and it absolutey loves me for it. But thats where the turbo and manifold like it.

so should i get a bigger turbo or spray it ? keep evo3 in it?
do you think i should just buy nos---or meth

im just lookin to burn up my stimulus check and smoke my friends mustang that runs a 12.7 with slicks, and my other friends 68 camaro that ran a 12.5 on street tires
nitrous would be cool
it would be kinda sweet to have power at a flip of a switch

best bang for the buck... nitrous. buy a cheap used kit for $350 or less, and have an instant 50-75hp

What are you running now with your 16g turbo setup?
The ride tuning and supporting mods you should be beating them ;)

i ran a 12.6 with a 50 shot with boost leaks and running extremely rish at 20psi on an evoIII
purchase the import EFI NOS Express kit. and then put a 75 shot on it and you'll beat them.

im running 272s, titanium valve springs and retainers, built engine, 8.5:1 pistons, multi layer melal gasket, arp head studs, fidanza flywheel, mild port, everything gasket matched, evo3, 3inch exhaust, 255hp fuel pump, huge fmic, coil on plug setup, colder plugs, and as soon as i get a eprom i will hook up my dsmlink, their are more mods but i cant remember, im so sick of workin on this thing (its not cobbled together ether like most dsms) i took my time on everything. and it finally has nice paint (for paintin it in my garage in 2 nights) pearl white tons of blue in it...swwweeeeeet!!!!!!!!
i dont think i will ever be happy with it!!!!! needs to be faster

you should be 12's consistantly with that current setup once you get DSMlink going.

yup, a good tune you'll be mid 12's without NOS.

what would nos bring me to

all depends on your tune and driving skillz.
low 12's would be easy i'd think with a 50shot. possibly 11's if you run a tight tune on race gas.

you should be able to get it pretty good yourself with DSMlink and a wideband 02. the closer you can get it yourself, the less time you'll spend on their dyno.

ha, you can tune for that, but you'll be replacing your engine soon.
At WOT, you should tune for 11:1 on pump for a good safe tune. some guys get a little risky and run 11.5:1 on pump.

i run 11.4:1 on pump in the GLH. need to tweek that a little i think. waiting on my fuel press guage, so i can mess with the fuel pressure some more. i'd really like to be 11:2 or less. i think for MF AutoX i'll splash in a few gallons of race gas just for kicks.
oh, back on topic... yes, i concur with dizzm. 11.1:1 would be nice at WOT. 13-14 is what you want to see on your volt meter! ha.
as for cheapest wideband... there are TONS of different ones out there, for decent to high prices. consider this though before you purchase from ebay... if you have any problems... good luck getting customer service from ebay. if you get it from a shop, at least you can call them if needed. that said, buy it from wherever you want to.

Cheap and wideband shouldn't be in the same sentence:) I personally like AEMs wideband.
