popping after rebuild

I just rebuilt my motor and got the check engine light off and it still has a slight backfire-popping sound at idle or when you hold it at like 2500rpm any one know what that is? any help is greatly appreciated thanks Josh

Exhaust leak? Cams not in time?

The car is in time, and yes there is an exhaust leak at the bottom of the o2 housing from 1 of the 2 bolts being stripped but that couldn't be the culprit could it?

could that little bit of a leak be playing hell with the O2 sensor

hows your cam angle sensor?

already changed the cam angle sensor, And no tuning because the safc2 is gone and back to stock injectors, changed the injectors to another set and still nothing, changed Ecu and that turned the check engine light off anyways

Why didn't you read the code for the CEL?
Just cause you get a CEL doesn't mean there is a problem with the ECU, it throws a CEL for a sensor.

Fix your exhaust leak.

Double check your base timing.
