Whats all needed to successfully lower the car? I don't want it slammed to the ground but i do want to eliminate the wheel gap as I'm looking to buy new rims. From what i've read it seems people use koni yellows and springs but is there anything else you need? Thanks

Any spring/strut combo will work. The more common ones are like eibach/tokico or koni sports. I have H&R/AGX. But if i you lower it you have to get struts because you will blow out the stock ones in no time.

do you just want a decent ride quality with a lowered look, or do you plan to track your car at all?

I dont plan on tracking the car at all. I just want the lowered look, good ride quality and the better handling.

Coilovers are a lot of $$$

for a good set, yes.

otherwise some simple springs and sturts will do alright. some eibach/tokico blue's would do alright.

doubtful just a spring/strut combo will make it handle a lot better though. but maybe a little, since i assume the stock stuff is probably tired.

I like k-sports. Very reasonable for a 2g.

I have heard many reports of Ksports blowing out after about a years use.

Make sure you get a camber correction kit also.. I didnt put one on my spyder and lowered it 2.6" and it wore the tires down 5x as fast.. You will prolly need tires within the next 5-10k miles if you dont get the kit..

Improper toe adjustments will wear out tires much more quickly than camber. An alignment is a must after changing the ride height. I don't think the camber kit I picked up is going to fit my needs, I have it as far negative as it will go and it doesn't look like enough. Although the ride height needs to be lowered a tad so hopefully I will get some more negative out of that. Of course this car isn't daily driven and I have no real concern about tire wear.

i run about -3 front and -1.5 rear camber. thats usually a good street alignement.

I have H&R springs on KYB AGX adjustables all the way around. I like them a lot. Been on there for around 10k miles. Still rides great.
