burning coolant

so im a little suspicious that i might be burning coolant.

when coolant burns, can you smell it all the time or when you step on it a little?
cause ever since i got my laser i noticed that when i get step on it a bit i notice a different smell, but when i drive normal, i dont smell anything.
i don't remember the smell off hand but i herd its a "sweet" smell. i will let you guys know tomorrow what it smells like.
and i havent herd from anyone that has seen it saying theres white smoke.

from now on ill check my overflow tank to see if it gets lower. but are there any other signs i should look for?



maybe pushing it too idk, but i herd if your pushing it to take out the thermostat when cold and look for bubbles or drastic changes in the water level.

that smell could have somthing to do with your cat,but no i never seen your car smoke at all and i wouldnt suspect your car losing coolant unless it over heats or the heater quits working.pay attention to your heater,even if your gauge doesnt read that your getting hot the heater will warn you that your getting low on antifreeze by not blowing hot air

You can get block dye for checking it at napa. Or pressure test the system. Or pressurize the cylinders with the cap off and look for bubbles.


And I have no idea what you are talking about with the thermostat.

it could be ur turbo. do u smell it when u first start driving ur car? and if u smell it when u get on the gas a lil more it could just be the smell of the turbo.

the center section could be cracked if its the factory turbo and was shut off right away doubt it tho.
