so the other day i was driving my car home and i noticed the radio was starting to cut it out. than the next morning went to start my car and my battery was dead. i got a used alternator got it tested and it passed. put it in the car. jumped my optima battery. and i didnt even make it two blocks before my battery was on it way out again. normally when an alternator goes out the lights get dim and when you press the gas the lights get brighter. the lights went dim but didnt get brighter when on the gas. iam confused on what it could be other than maybe a ground issue?

Jump your car and check with a multimeter what voltage readings you get when your vehicle is running. should read about 14.4 volts.

your battery prolly took out your alternator, otherwise its actualy pretty common to replace both at the same time but you dont always have to
