trans differences

i have a 1g awd tranny and im wondering, can i take parts out of it for my 2g awd ??? there both a w5m33 right?

i believe if the model codes are the same the internals are interchangeable since the whole transmissions would be interchangeable, it might be that the internals are different however just the whole transmissions are interchangeable.. i wasnt exactly sure and wasn't going to say anything until had some back up so i found this site..
