car will not run anymore..

i put a 2g maf in, along with 560cc injectors, i had a homemade plug for the 2g to 1g, took it out and made one with the 2g plug and the 1g maf plug. and way, i accidetly put two of the wrong wires together. fried out my ecu, put a friends in to make sure that was my problem because on my logger a code was comming up for the MAF. my friends ecu worked. i had to take it out to give it back to him. so ok my problem seemed to be the ecu. got a new ecu today and now the damn thing wont start, cranks, has spark and fuel but wont start, not even close. just spells like raw fuel. i even tried my friends ecu again and it didnt work.. BTW, it sat for about 3 weeks before i found a ecu. spark plugs are just drenched with gas.. the 2g to 1g plug is perfect. the maf is good and works. i am stumped with this. i dont know what it could be. timing is in line on the top cam gears. not sure about the bottom, or the compression. but how could have that changed just sitting???? if u have ideas please let me know. or if you live in or near milwaukee and want to come check it out, be my guest.

Did you get an automatic ecu by chance? If so the difference in injector size could be causing a problem.

Are you using something to tune for the MAF and larger injectors? I know it "works" but it isn't what I would consider a happy thing because it can cause the introduction of bad behavior on the car's part.

no it came out of the same exact car as mine. 92' 5speed tsi awd. i was running just the 2g and 560's for a while now. ran fine. but while my car wasnt running i picked up a S-afc. idk if you can tune it though with out it running you know? i know 2gs are alot differnt from a 1g, wiring wise...

Not sure what the problem with the car is but get a logger before you start tuning.

See if you can borrow your buddies ecu again. You may have gotten a bad ecu or there could be something else wrong and then your buddies ecu will also not make it run and we can start narrowing things down from there.

i tried his ecu again.. and its the same thing as my ecu. so it cant be the ecu. going to hopfully check the timing later if i can

What makes you think the rings are bad? Even when rings are going the car will generally still run just fine but with some extra smoke and it will cause your dipstick to pop out.

what else could it be.? compression test said 50-90-100-120
then we put oil on the 50 a piston and compressioned it and it went to 140.

Sounds like rings if it went up with oil in there.
