hey my name is Brandon Hansen. i live in dresser right next to St. Croix Falls.
i have a 91 talon awd that i bought blew up twice and I'm now rebuilding it basically ground up. this next week i will be starting on that project. first up is to tear the motor down and replace all the lower gaskets so we can figure out where the oil is spraying from. then its on to replacing the front fenders due to rust holes. then we will be matting the tranny and case to the motor and dropping it in. i don't expect this to be done within the next week but we should be done in about a month. the car has been sitting for about 7 months.
a little history on myself. i ended up running into a now good friend of mine Adam Galentine through another friend of mine Jake shortly after Jake had bought his 92 laser. well Adam kind of owns his own little back yard mechanic's shop and he specializes in dsm's. After talking with Adam for a while i stated to learn a lil bit about this new territory known as the dsm. i have always been a v8 guy really so fuel injected 4 bangers were new to me.
so this turned to that and on my way to work one day i saw this kinda beat up 1ga talon for sale on the side of the road. I'm like no way, thats one of those cars Adam is always working on. so i stopped in and talked to the guy. about a week later i am driving home my new 91 black cherry awd talon. well on the way home she overheated and the head warped. so after a little tlc and some more cash i got a new head on and I'm rockin' and rollin' once again. well then came the broken cv axle's and the bad brakes, and the oil leakage and then finally the worst... i granaded my tranny, snapped the bell housing and there was nothing left of the inerds, every bearing, gear, syncro and anything else you can think of was trashed. since then we have pulled the motor and parked the car out back in the grave yard where it has sat for almost 8 months now.
