When I get in my car in the morning, I start up the car and it will struggle to get past 1k rpm and then will die unless I press the gas pedal. If it does die before I press the pedal, it will start up fine when I start it again and then I wont have this problem again until the next morning. Any explanation for this?

Does it fire right away or does it crank a while before it starts the first time? If it cranks a while it may be the fuel pump getting weak.

or a pressure leak in the fuel system... try turning the key tomoro morning only the RUN position, but don't crank. see if priming the fuel pump first, then starting, helps the problem. i had this before in my car... needed the prime the pump for 2-3 seconds first, then there was no issues. i had a small pressure leak somewhere.

did you try adjusting your BISS screw? I had same issue and just tweaked mine a little, problem went away..

Sorry, still learning the engine area and parts, so I have no clue what a BISS screw is. Anyways, the past few times I have started it it almost died and then jumped up to 2k rpm, lowered to idle and ran fine

thats fine. at least you asked.

its the "Base Idle Set Screw" it is located on your throttle body front side. phillips head on it.. screw it in or out to change the base idle..

otherwise, on the throttle body there is a sensor called TPS (throttle position sensor) which might not be working right so your computer isnt reading correctly.

here is a good site with pictures on locations of parts.

I was always tought to not touch that screw unless you really have to, because 9 times out of 10 its something else that is messing up your idle. TPS, MAS, something electrical.

you may be thinking of the other screw that can adjust the Throttle Plate. that one you should never touch.
