I dont know to much about Eprom's but it sounds like stuff I want to play with. Is there a "how to use an EPROM for dummies" guide out there anywhere?

Tell me about your car, there may be more interesting things for you to play with. Otherwise depending on your generation you will have different tuning options.

For 1g cars Jackal is an interesting tuning framework
For 2g cars flashable ecus are really quite cool and are more or less the same sort of computer work without the hassle of physically swapping out chips.

For either gen you can use the information provided on the DSM yahoo group to burn your own custom chips with certain useful mods and fuel/timing control. I'm less familiar with this but I believe the program/hex editor that is most common on TunerproRT

there is some research out there. people have been able to burn their own chips. You are better off just getting dsm link. they broke the code for you and made it ez
