View Full Version : 4 barrel carburetor not opening!

Well i know this may be a kinda strange question for you guys and gals but i am having some issues figuring out why my uncles 4 barrel Holley carburetor it is not opening even while under load. we have tried to open the 4 barrel manually but it is just not doing anything.

See we think the 4B has a bur of some sort that is not letting the power valve to open. Which is not engaging the 4B to open.

Another issue that we think that could be related is that the interior vents open while at WOT and that is leading use to think its a vacuum problem.

Any tips or tricks would be helpful.

The car is a Ford Crown Victoria not sure on the year right now.

whats a carburetor?? I have never seen one of those before....haha

could be many things choke lock out (somethings out of adjustment) vacume controle lockout for choke, base plate warped take your time study how each circut works with eachother (rods and linkages)

well the odd thing is the 4B is almost brand new but i do know where i can pick up a rebuild kit for cheap. thanks for the input dsm430.

usually any parts store ?? im used to older carbs
