shaft play, grinding tranny, and hacked up wiring from previous owners are a few things to look at.

look things over like you would any other car. I would take off the timing belt cover and check the timing belt, take it out on the highway and make sure the clutch holds, Downshift at high RPMS and make sure the trans doesn't grind, Check all fluid levels.

Incorrect, but I can see why would think so. 92-94 (1GB's) were available with AWD. however, no 1GA(90-91) lasers were AWD.

agreed, 93 and 94 AWD lasers are very hard to find.

they only made less then 1000 awd laser's in 94 since lasers were only made half the year and in 93 they made less then 3000 since the talon and eclipse out sold the laser almost 3-1 in 92 but the laser has the sweetest factor ground affects crossbreed just picked up a fwd tsi and it looks sweet

Yeah i test drove it. It sounds like it needs a tie rod. The only things im questioning is. He drove it first cause i haven't driven a stick in forever and when he was driving when he went to stop he didn't down gear and the car would die as it got to just about a dead stop. It would fire right back up no problem. He left me drive it and when i drove it i down geared it to a stop and it didn't die on me. The only other thing is the temp gauge never moved as we drove and the heat didn't seem to work.
Any ideas on that?
Its got an new clutch in it and when driving it seemed fine. It boosted and stayed there and it pulled. Its got aftermarket piping and BOV.

the thermostat could be stuck open or taken out all together

Is the aftermarket BOV vented to the atmosphere? if so, that could be part of the reason it died on him. and if it is vented, it shouldn't be.

Well i told the guy i would trade and he said ok. We set up to trade on Sunday since i have work the rest of the week and im out of town on Saturday. But then at around midnight he sent me and email saying he couldn't trade cause his wife said no.
So now after driving it i love the car and want to get one.
Anyone on here want to trade for a 97 Dodge Ram 2500 V8(360) Regular Cab Long Bed, 4x4, 6 inch lift, 35 inch tires.
Would like a AWD 5 Speed Turbo, Prefer a 2g but will take a 1g in a heart beat. Don't matter if its a Talon, Laser or Eclipse.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure I found one once for sale up in PA that was rock solid for super cheap that I wanted to buy awhile ago...
I'm not saying there never was but I thought there was a very small handful that were made?!

I am sure. If it was a 90 or 91 laser AWD it was swapped.
