Hi all,
It's so nice to find a more geographically local forum!
My name is Alex and i'm from Eau Claire, WI.

I bought my 2g eclipse about 2 months ago so only got a few weeks to drive it before I stored it for the winter. It has a TON of little things wrong with it but I love the car and look forward to digging into it.

A little about me, My first car was a 98 camaro z-28 that I bought right out of High School, after a few years I ran into an old friend with a 98 Neon r/t, we raced and agreed that the loser had to trade in their car for the others car.
So we raced and I lost, mine was stock and his had a stage 2 turbo from hahn racecraft and all the supporting mods. 2 days later I sold my camaro and bought a neon. After building 3 of them, 2 turbo charged, i got sick of them. Plus its a pain in the ass to turbo a neon and make it run right. So here I am now with my first DSM.
Car is 98 GSX, pretty much stock except for an injen cai, and apexi 3" exhaust

Anyway here are some pictures of the car.

Welcome and clean car. plans or future mods? and sitting kinda high lol but still nice. im David btw lol

Thanks for the welcome and nice to meet you
Yes, In the near future (ordering this week) im doing:
New ball joints
New slave cylinder (Its leaking)
Eibach Pro Springs
Tokico Illumina struts (might go Koni yellow)
Energy Suspension master bushing kit
B&M Short throw shifter
Shifter bushing (console and underhood)
Energy Suspension motor mount inserts
Greddy Piping kit
New BOV (Havent decided which one yet)

Havent really thought much past the front suspension but before winter is over id like:
190 lph fuel pump
probably an ECMLink
maybe a 16g upgrade
thinking of getting rid of the 3" exhaust, seems like overkill to me right now

I dont have a heated garage so i'll be waiting until spring to tear into it sadly. The car also has a few things I need to fix that the previous owner didnt tell me about, the gas tank leaks when i fill it up, 2 days after buying it the ABS and Windshield wiper dash lights came on, The slave cylinder was leaking, found this out the hard way, was driving down the interstate got onto the off-ramp and pushed the clutch in... no pressure at all lol
There is a major water leak somewhere, took it to a car wash and the drivers side floor ended up saturated and the trunk had about 6 inches of water in it.

I think after I get all this done i'll be happy for a little bit.

Awesome was worried I would have to bleed it, would have been a challenge since i'm a 1 man show lol

The car really isn't worth enough to warrant putting it away for the winter but I love it anyway. I almost bought an evo but decided payments sucked and backed out at the last minute.

welcome, nice car!!!

Yeah i'm glad as well, losing that race was crappy at the time but really opened up my eyes. :)

No, I don't know anyone here in E.C. really. I'm from Kansas, just moved here about 6 months ago.

I also just moved to Eau Claire about 6 months ago. When you pull it out in the spring I'd love to see it in person, I could probably be convinced to help you fix your little issues as well.

The only white gsx I've seen around here looked stock but of course that means nothing.

Are you a student at UWEC? There are a few DSMers around campus but I haven't talked to any of them. www.ecscc.com/forum/ is a good place to go to find other enthusiasts from our area, I only joined a week or so ago but they seem like good guys and the forum is active.

well his isn't terribly modded, but it's definetly not stock either... i ran a 13.0 in it 2 summers ago, with the stock SMIC being my limiting factor, heat soak we think. FP-BigT28, 750cc's, ACT2600, exhaust, DSMLink, and a few other things as well. fun car for sure! i miss it!! it was SUPER CLEAN!!!

couldn't find any pics of it at the track... weird. it sure was a fun & clean car!! looked stock other than tint. (and some freshly painted rims!)

Is he a student by any chance? There is a white 2gb gsx that runs around campus with stock exhaust and smic.

I believe I know which GSX Kurt is talking about, I had seen the car when I was coming back from the twin cities early this year. It looks stock, but it does have a small wi-dsm.com sticker on the back quarter glass. Actually gestured my phone number to him and we talked as we drove down the highway.

Wow, that is a bit surprising. I know you and I wouldn't probably talk to you just because we happened to be on the same stretch of highway.

Speaking of talking though I'm going to be in Wausau for part of next week. Feel hitting up my old 3rd ave haunts with me while I'm there?

Well normally I wouldnt have done that, but he had wi-dsm stickers so I had to find out more.

As for you being in Wausau, it all depends on timing, give me 24 hours notice, because my plans always change.

im not a student, i've already graduated. I might not be waiting until spring to start working on it, I ran into an old friend who has a garage big enough to handle everything im going to be doing.

nice gsx. My cousin lives up there.. Theres a good support for autox up there. I should be up there a couple times in the summer :)
I hope so, i've done 1/4 mile for so long that im really interested in trying autox. I was a safety tech inspector for Rock Falls for a looong time and need something new.

No it wasnt anyone named Adam, this would have been back in 1999. Is the Adam you're talking about the one with a 2.4 and an srt turbo from Minnesota?

Any pics of your old Neons? I've had a few myself. Never really modded them though, besides basic bolt-ons. I'm currently looking for a clean shell to do a 2.4L swap with SRT4 internals & big turbo. Definitely sleeper status.
