Well the time is coming to buy some new shoes for the talon and i am just wondering what kinds of recommendation's of tires, size, brand you guys would think would be a good choice for a summer performance and daily driven tire would be.

Rim size: 17" by 7", Current tire size: 215/45/zr17

Here are a few tires that i had my eyes on what does every one think?

It really comes down to your price range.... Do you just need them to drive on daily with no real performance necessary, or would you like to run them at an event or two over the summer?

Fuzion Zri. I Had a set of those on 17s and i was super impressed. 69 bucks a pop.

Cant remember the style but my friend has a set of Hankooks on his h22t civic had them 3 years and they still have alot of meat on them.

go with 17 x 8's with a +38mm offset and a 245/40-17 tire. They should tuck under there nicely.

oh wait, just rubber, umm, go with a 235/40-17

As for brand, what do you plan to do with the car mostly.

Well i am planning on trying some auto x this summer and maybe see if i can get some track time down to see what i can do. i was looking for tires within the price range of like $130 ish tops if that helps any. Is there anyone here that knows how to do alignments? just wondering because i am sick of crappy local shops not knowing what there doing.

I did have a link up there of all the tires i was looking at but it was being dumb.

Falken Azenis are know to be great performing tires at decent price. Might want to look into those. http://www.vulcantire.com/azenis_rt615_t.htm

yup, the azenis are great street/track tires. and for more street use, the Fuzion ZRi's are nice for sure! either way, i also recommend the 235-40-17 size. looks good on the 7" wide stock rims...

azenis are a great all around tire with great grip. I also like Kuhmo Ecsta MX's.

well those Kumho Ecsta MX are looking like a very nice tire on tirerack right now lol. Whats the tread life on those EVO Z's? just some food for thought will that tire offset that you guys recommended work with my rims? I ask because my rims are off of a 03' mazda speed protege'.

not sure if this link is gonna work but here are a few tires that i was looking at on tire rack.http://www.tirerack.com/tires/CompareTires.jsp?removeIndex=7|145ZR72000&width=215/&ratio=45&diameter=17&speed_rating=Z&speed_rating=W&speed_rating=Y&speed_rating=(Y)

They recommend 17X7.5(min) for 235's but you can run then on 7".

it looks like kuhmo does not make the MX'S in a 235/40/17 tire size the closest thing they have is a 235/45/17. you can see for your self here. http://www.kumhousa.com/tires/passenger/ultra-high-performance/KU15/specs.do

i'm kinda stumped why they would skip that particular size. Is it possible to fit a 235/45/17's on there with out any issues?

well i think i may have found the answer to what i was asking ^^^ because of a post on dsmtuners lol go figure lol. ill link it over to show http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/handling-tech/290401-will-245-45-16-fit-1g.html

But just wondering since my rims have a 55mm offset would the 235/45/17 be too big?

sorry for the long ass post lol.

so will 235/45/17 work with out any rubbing issues or is that just a bad idea to run them?

I am not 100% sure YET. I have a set of kuhmo Ecsta MX's in that size that I will be test fitting soon.
