1990 talon tsi idle problems

when i leave my talon idle it jumps up and down from about 1000 then up to 1500 or so then back to around 1000 and right back up to 1500 over and over. it never stops. the car goes fine under acceleration. possibly a throttle position sensor?

thanks that is a very interesting article. Come to find out when the guy i got it from had the idle screw almost all the way out....:confused:......so now a adjusted it, i had to put it all the way in and it still idles at about 1200 rpm which is high(in my eyes) and i dont have any vaccuum leaks so idk what to try now.
