Is it possible for me to fit a 1g f5m33 tranny onto a 2g engine? I found a tranny for $250 and want to know if I can do it.
Thanx.

i am really not 100% sure. I know it will bolt up, but the starter may be different, as well as maybe the shifter linkage and how it mounts. What about the tranny mounts themselves, i dont know if they are in the exact same place as the 2g's...
I've never heard of anyone using a 1g trans in a 2g. 2g trans is a bit more stronger anyways.

Ive never heard of it either.. But they shouldnt be any different.. B/c you can swap the 1g motor in a 2g car, and use the 2g tranny... So it should work vice versa..

Well, if i recall, the 1g front and rear engine/tranny mounts are on the engine in a 1g, whereas on a 2g they are on the tranny. So that would mean there are no mounting points for the front and rear mounts on a 1g tranny.
^If that made sense...

ya..
It will not work...
People have used 2g trannys in 1gs before, but putting a 1g tranny in a 2g isnt going to work unless you do a lot of fab.
